  1. first time I saw this movie the monster scared the crap outta me lol

  2. @st69854 says:

He should have took Zetha home with him.

  3. Why don't we earth people have a standard Uniform? it seems every time I watch one of these movies everyone else in the Universe have been able to make a decision of what they will all wear but here on Earth we all dress up without giving a thought to what everyone else is wearing, we try to avoid wearing what everyone else is wearing, I think they have the right idea, it would free up the mind for more important things, especially for women

  4. The other thing about Aliens that I find strange, on earth people from other countries speak another language…..and yet in space they all talk English!

  5. There's no way I would have left that fast. I would have needed more time with Zetha, forget the nonsense.

  6. Low budget sci fi. I don't know why I am enjoying this so much.

  7. oh they got attacked by a KFC spicy chicken wing

  8. These asteroids and the Phantom Planet look like chicken strips…

  9. I usually like these old sci-fi films, but boy was this boring. Anyway, I wanted to add that the actor who played Colonel Lansfield, Dick Haynes, did a good job.

  10. enjoyed this!!!

  11. Seen a lot worse.

  12. Lame script/acting/directing!

  13. @Al8101 says:

FX and sets not bad for low budget in 1961!

  14. 37:25. " I'd like to have you both as wives.".

  15. Para ser de 1960, me pareció entretenida, su argumento interesante y bellisima Dolores Faith

  16. Wow in 1960 when this was written they actually believed by 1980 we humans would be so advanced
Little did they know we would have literally gone backwards polluting the planet and destroying each other with constant wars over territory religion and oil
What the hell aren’t we doing wrong
As the most advanced animals on this planet to quote the movie (at 9.00 minutes) Each year of my life I grow more and more convinced we are quite pathetic in fact the so called world leaders are driven by greed lust traditions and very little intellectual thinking.
Do you know since they invented digital watches we all sat back like we had won some kind of an innovator lottery stopped evolving as a race and made movies dreaming and playing at going to worlds far far away.
I would go on but there re running my favourite Star Trek episode on four

  17. @41divad says:

Uhh… there is no sound in space

    Actors are cardboard cutouts

Access panels exterior? Gravity in space?

  18. only seven years before kubrick's 2001

  19. You know, if you cut off the first 22 minutes and start the movie when he lands on the asteroid, you basically have a 1 hour long Outer Limits or Twilight Zone episode. I means it's good but, it's 1960s television kind of good.

  20. I like this movie for its low budget yet ambitious vision and its honesty. Even in it's title, "Phantom Planet" is exactly what the movie is about without being lurid "Planet of the Space Beauties" or outright deceptive ,"Planet of the Space Zombies"
I also cant help but think that Kubrick took some inspiration from that scene where one astronaut floats off into the distance while frantically reaching behind himself for his broken air hose.

  21. Wouldn't have left Zetha LOL

  22. @rmtl3140 says:

The horrible acting makes it fun to watch!

  23. what got me is how he was not even concern about trying to find the missing man, and when the ship landed he didn't try to fix the ship instead he wanted to get off, bad writing and direction.

  24. Très bonne qualité pour un film de 1961 ! ❤

  25. Wait, they leave those deadly gravity plates on all the time, even when there is no duel going on?
That seems like an accident waiting to happen.

  26. You old zinger s

  27. @Gmadow says:

They stole many ideas from this movie for star trek

  28. @lrb3989 says:

The objects floating by looked like fried chicken livers

  29. @tarmaque says:

Why do they have ejection seats in a spacecraft?

  30. Me encantó , sin tanta tecnología se lograba mucho

  31. If Francis X Bushman is acting in a movie, I watch it!

  32. Richard Keil, Jaws, played the solarite monster that broke out from prison. Overall, good story, horrible acting, and cheesy sfx. A new version using cgi and better actors may raise this tale from the dust for it harbors the basis for a great sci-fi story.

  33. This is a true story. I was Captain Leonard on the Pegasus III. I died as shown here — it was mercifully quick… I reincarnated yesterday, and saw this movie because Daddy was watching YouTube while chest-feeding me. Now I remember everything ! Thank you, YouTube !

  34. @Koviklay says:

What films like this lack in elaborate effects they make up for in heart. ❤

  35. Chapman shoulda said he agreed to the terms, only one woman—one Mondays through Wednesdays, the other Thursdays through Saturdays, and reserve Sundays to hang out with his pals or different one every other day with a day off.

  36. Pochi anni più tardi è stato girato 2001 odissea nello spazio ahahah

  37. Well it’s happening now in 2024. Our Washington politicians makes it come true. Damn it

  38. I was born in 61. Hmm

  39. Haa those jurors were just beautiful ? Eint thay ?

  40. 2:05 – Yes, this is exactly what it was like back in 1980. We had no colour TV yet, and this was state of the art technology!

  41. @JeffM--- says:

I really enjoyed that. Loved the ending.

  42. @splean75 says:

    Not what I was expecting.

  43. @rmcrae62 says:

He has the opportunity to pick a wife that doesn't speak? Sign me up for that!

  44. @lewis7515 says:

    3:49 It's actually unbelievable how much I laughed….
    Just keep pressing it: 3:49

Sesson is the voice of King Moonraiser on Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

  48. Interesting to see Dean Fredericks in this movie. He played the title role as Steve Canyon in the TV series of the same name in the late 1950's.

  49. Le Solarite est interprété par Richard Kiel (Jaws dans James Bond).

  50. That's too bad. He should've taken Elizabeth Taylor back with him.

  51. That was typical of the 50's B movies. Hokey but enjoyable enough to watch.

  52. LIXO GALÁTICO !!!

    TODAVIA NOIR !!!

  53. I grew up on 50's and early 60's science fiction but I don't think I'd seen this one. This was very nostalgic. Thank you for the black and white version that's true to the original. The colorized copies look fuzzy and fake.

  55. That planet made me hungry~ it looked like a piece of KFC chicken!

  56. A space walk with no tether and a crescent wrench

  57. 14:55 The USAF must have had a ton of those g suits for sale back in the 1950s

  58. 1980 ? They had no idea that an alien would be the president then.

  59. Gracias por ponerla en español

  60. Very enjoyable

  61. @Maxi0395 says:

    grazie mille maestro

  62. Collen Gray was so gorgeous and sexy. She had a very convincing performance in Stanley Kubricks "The killing".

  63. mejor es blanco y negro

  64. Saturdays at the local theater i probably saw this movie. Im 75 yrs old now still like these old B movies

  65. Well folks if you think you recognise the music your right.
It’s taken directly from Destination Moon the Leith Stevens score..
Works very well though it’s sad he’s not credited.
I still remember sitting through this in the early sixties, drive in, but cannot remember the other feature.
To be honest I can’t remember much of this film!!…
Boy the sixties were great…❤️… thanks for posting.

  66. Coleen Grey is a Beauty ! – but the Movie is too stupid to watch !

  67. That was spectacularly bad. I loved it.

  68. Esse filme pode ser comprado na caixa Invasores do espaço.
Provavelmente foi dele que veio a inspiração para a série Terra de gigantes.

  76. Pretty decent special effects for the time.
