I'm (mostly) ok with 14 having last year's chip. I don't take much issue with a last year's top chip coming down to lower models. Most Android phones have old(er) chips in them. What I take issue is Apple not being honest about why they do this and instead trying to sell this as a feature.
In Germany the iPhones actually got a lot Mode expensive like a lot more!

AI graphics wise, the REAL money maker for AI editing will be for whomever creates software that can automatically edit a foreign film, sample each characters voice, translate what they are saying into English & play it in the SAME voice, and use something like deepfake to change each actors lip movements to match the new English words. This could be used to make EVERY foreign film accessible to the English speaking world, without annoying subtitles or terrible dubbing that destroys the immersion of the film to the point that it's unwatchable. I'm sure companies like Netflix would pay hundreds of millions for it because they have a huge library of foreign films, which people won't watch with current subtitles or terrible dubbing. Go go developers and hit this gold mine!

AFAIK, the Photonic Engine is the new Apple image pipeline.
In it, Deep Fusion enters the pipeline much earlier in the process – hopefully realtime – but I don't think that it just handles Deep Fusion.
I believe it also handles video, and it's the reason why Cinema mode is now 4K, and is probably responsible for Action mode (which crops down video from 4K to around 2.8K and digitally stabilizes it). It also handles pixel binning on the new Pro's new 48 MP sensor, and helps increase low light performance.
